Do We Belief YHWH?

According to Hebrews 11: 1 “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” In verse 2 we read: “For by it (faith) the men of old gained approval.” Do we have faith in what we read in the Scriptures? Do we believe that the Scriptures/Bible is the word of Elohim? YHWH our Elohim talks to us through His written word – do we believe Him?

In Deut 6: 4 we read: “Hear o Israel! YHWH is our Elohim, YHWH is one!” Do we believe this statement? At a Feast of Tabernacles a few years ago a Minister of one of the off shoots of the World-wide Church of G-d read Deut 6: 4 followed by a statement that I will probably remember for the rest of my life, saying and I quote: “But we know He is two!” By saying that the Minister simply stated the doctrine of most of the Churches of G-d regarding the so-called “G-dhead”. The Churches of G-d believe that their G-d is made up of two deities, one being the Father and a lesser being the son named, Jesus Christ. The question is if YHWH our Elohim says in the Scriptures that He is one, do we believe Him, or do we decide for ourselves that He is two or even three beings?

If YHWH our Elohim tells us to remember the Sabbath day and to keep it set apart (holy), do we follow His instructions regarding the seventh day Sabbath, or do we decide which day of the week is the “Sabbath” and keep it either on Friday or on Sunday? If He instructs us not to eat pork or any other unclean meats, do we believe Him or do we go straight ahead and decide to have a breakfast of bacon and eggs? If that is the case, why do we even use the Scriptures? Why do we call ourselves Messianic, Nazarene, or even Christian? Is it simply to soothe our consciences?

If YHWH is our Elohim, why do we want to worship Him our way? If we believe that He is our Creator, should we not do things his way? Should we not follow His instructions in His written Word, called the Scriptures? Do we always want to do things our way? There are some hard lessons in life if we are going to insist on doing things our way? If we buy a new car or household appliance, do we follow the manufacturer’s instructions given in the Instruction Manual that usually accompanies the vehicle or appliance? If the vehicle’s Instruction Manual specifies that we only use un-leaded petrol/gasoline do we put dieseline or water in the fuel tank? I suggest to you that most of us follow our vehicle manuals to the smallest detail to ensure that we get as much out of our purchase as we possibly can. After all, the manufacturer knows what is best for his product.

Well then, what about our Manufacturer/Creator? Should He not know best what we ought to put into our fuel tanks/stomachs and minds? Should He not know what is the best way for us to live our daily lives? In Deuteronomy 30: 15-19 we read: “See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; in that I command you today to love YHWH your Elohim, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that YHWH your Elohim may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it. But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other Elohim and serve them, I declare to you that you shall surely perish. You shall not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter and posses it. I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.”

The reason why we do not obey our Creator goes right back to the Garden of Eden. YHWH instructed Adam and Eve that they may eat of all of the fruit in the garden including of the tree of life, but they were not allowed to eat from the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. We know that Adam and Eve did not keep to YHWH’s instruction and sinned. Induced by the lies and temptation of Satan, Eve took and ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and also gave some to Adam. Since then all humankind have sinned and fall short of YHWH's glory. Since the fall of man it is not in man to want to worship His Maker, even if we try. We read in Jeremiah 17: 9 “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately wicked; who can understand it?” By eating of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, our forebears implied that they wanted to decide for themselves what is right and wrong. They did not want to listen to the teachings of YHWH – to know what is right and what is wrong. Our forebears acted just like most teenage children of today. Whatever we as parents tell our children not to do, that is exactly what they will do. Tell them that smoking is detrimental to their health and they will go right ahead and try it. YHWH’s teachings are contained in Torah, but mankind do not want to be prescribed to as to what they should or should not do. Satan has indeed deceived the whole world as it states in Revelation 12: 9. He wants us to be rebellious like he is. He knows that his time is short and continues to deceive mankind daily.

Satan does not want mankind to know the Good News of the kingdom of YHWH. According to 2 Corinthians 3 & 4 He blinds the minds of unbelieving humans that they might not see the light of the Good News of the glory of Messiah, who is the image of Elohim. In the temptation by Satan, Eve was deceived, but Adam disobeyed YHWH and sinned deliberately. His deliberate disobedience of YHWH’s command cut him and all of humankind off from YHWH, producing a state of mental distortion in him and his children and opening their minds to Satan’s deceptions. From then on Adam and his descendants were open to Satan’s ways. Once Adam made this fatal decision, YHWH shut off the tree of life from all humankind. There were exceptions throughout the ages where YHWH chose prophets to pen the Scriptures. YHWH gave humankind a period of 6000 years during which He is allowing them to experiment with different forms of government, culture, education and religion. Since Adam failed, salvation cannot be open to humanity in general. The closing of the tree of life from humankind, introduced the commencement of the present world ruled by Satan.

Whilst Elohim was with us as Yahshua or Immanuel (Elohim with us), did we believe Him? When, Yahshua said in Matt 12: 39 & 40 “An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign: and yet no sign shall be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet; for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Do we believe Him or do we deny the only sign that Yahshua gave of His true Messiah ship, by incorrectly saying that he was buried on Good Friday and resurrected on Sunday morning.

When Yahshua says in Matt 5: 17 & 18 that He did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfil it. Do we believe Him? Or do we say that the law was nailed to the “cross”? Do we truly believe our Creator?  In John 3: 18 we read: “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of Elohim.” Believing in Yahshua means believing in what He taught whilst He was on earth. Believing in His name means we believe in the Salvation of Yah or the name Yahshua – not in the Greek name Jesus.

Do we call YHWH a liar when He says in Exodus 3: 15 “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, YHWH, the Elohim of your Fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you. ‘This is my Name forever, and this is my memorial-name to all generations.” Do we go right ahead and say that we will rather call Him “G-d” like all the other nations call their mighty ones or deities?

We, as humankind cannot and will not obey our Father unless we come to the recognition that we are unable to serve and obey Him without His help and the indwelling of HIS Set-apart Spirit. We read about this in Jeremiah 31: 31 – 33 “Behold days are coming” declares YHWH “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them” declares YHWH. “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days.” Declares YHWH. “I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it: and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.” In John 16: 7 – 13 we read “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.” “And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgement; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you no longer behold Me; and concerning judgement, because the ruler of this world has been judged.  I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.   But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”

Humankind has a propensity to sin. Without the Set-apart Spirit to convince us of our sin, we would have no hope at all. Yahshua had to die, for the Set-apart Spirit to come. YHWH purposed Yahshua to die for the sins of all mankind. His death makes it possible for us to have direct access to our Heavenly Father, in prayer in His (Yahshua’s) name. If we start keeping YHWH's Commandments, have faith in Yahshua and are immersed in His name, for the forgiveness of our sins, we can become children of Elohim. In John 3: 5 Yahshua answered (Nicodemus): “ Surely, surely I say to you. Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of Elohim

At the beginning of this world YHWH determined that His Word, which is very much part of Him, would become flesh and die as the lamb of YHWH for the sins of the world. In Satan’s deceived world many have come to worship a counterfeit Messiah who is supposed to have done away with YHWH’s commandments. They worship a person called Jesus Christ and keep traditional man made ‘holydays’, such as Sunday, Easter and Christmas. However, in Mark 7: 7 Yahshua answered the Pharisees regarding their traditions: “But in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the precepts of men. Neglecting the commandments of Elohim, you hold to the tradition of men.”

During the period of 6000 years YHWH called out men and woman whom He wants to use as first fruits. Of these people, those who out of their own free will accept Yahshua as their Saviour and strive to keep YHWH’s Commandments will again get access to the tree of life. When they are immersed in Yahshua’s saving name, they will be given a portion of YHWH's Set-apart Spirit after immersion and the laying-on of hands. This is as stated in Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahshua Messiah for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Set Apart Spirit."This is a Key to the Kingdom of YHWH. When the Set-apart Spirit combines with the spirit in man, we are begotten anew, giving us a fresh chance, to like Yahshua be resurrected to eternal life.

When Yahshua comes as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, those of us called by YHWH during this age that died in Yahshua, will be resurrected to reign with Him for a thousand years. These first fruits will consist of one hundred and forty four thousand, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel. Yahshua our Messiah has not forgotten the lost sheep of Israel. However, most of the children of Israel were deceived through the past centuries. They died believing in a false messiah and a three-headed deity called God. However, YHWH reveals in Ezekiel 37 that He will resurrect these Israelites and give them His truth, so that they will receive His Set-apart Spirit to lead them to salvation. YHWH first deals with His chosen people Israel, and then He will deal with all other peoples. In Ephesians 2: 13 –15 and 18 & 19 we read: “But now in Yahshua Messiah, you who were formerly far removed, were brought near through the blood of Messiah. For He himself is our peacemaker who made both groups (meaning Judah and Ephraim) into one. And broke down the dividing wall. By abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that He himself made the two into one new man, thus establishing peace.” “For through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.  So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of Elohim’s household. Just for the record, in Colossians 2: 14 we see that it was not the law, but the record of our debt for breaking the law that was nailed to the cross.

Those people, who are not called now, will be resurrected after the millennium during the Day of Judgment, when they will have their first opportunity to know and understand YHWH's way of life. The Scriptures will be opened for them and they will be given a chance to make an informed decision as to whether they want to repent of their past sins or not. They will be given the opportunity to accept Yahshua as their Saviour, or reject His way of life. Those who accept Yahshua’s way of life will be immersed into His saving name and be given a portion of YHWH’s Set-apart Spirit, after which they will receive eternal life. However, there might be some that will never accept YHWH's way of life. Their fate is to be burned up once and for all. We read about this in Matthew 12: 41 & 42: “The men of Nineveh shall stand up with this generation at the judgement, and shall condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold something greater than Jonah is here. The Queen of the South shall rise up with this generation at the judgement and shall condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold something greater than Solomon is here.”

According to Isaiah 49: 8 today (this age) is a day of salvation. Those of us called by YHWH during this age, have to show by our actions and by the choices that we make, that we want to obey and please Him. As YHWH’s elect we will be judged during this lifetime and will not have another opportunity after death. However, YHWH is a loving Elohim and is tolerant towards us by allowing us to fall many times, as long as we earnestly repent, every time we realise that we have been wrong. Remember, according to 1 Peter 4: 17, judgment is now upon the household of YHWH.

I conclude with Paul’s admonition in 1 Corinthians 1: 26 & 27 “ For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but YHWH has chosen the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and YHWH has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong.” Therefore my Brethren, do not take lightly your calling, so that another come and take away your crown.
